The Noto Radio Astronomy Station is an observational facility managed by INAF (National Institute for Astrophysics). It is located about 15 km from Noto (SR), a renowned Baroque capital and UNESCO World Heritage Site. The station hosts a 32-meter diameter parabolic radio telescope with an active surface.
In its laboratories, a team of astronomers and engineers is engaged in the design and development of all aspects related to observational instruments. Research areas include structural mechanics, radio frequency technologies, digital systems, and instrument control software.
There is a second antenna, identical to the one in Noto, located in Medicina (BO). A third antenna, measuring 64 meters in diameter, was inaugurated in 2013 in San Basilio (Cagliari).
